Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Kotori iOS app (the "App") and official website (the "Website"), provided by katot (the "Service Provider"). Both services are free and provided as is.
Information Collection and Use
The App collects anonymous usage analytics to improve the service. This includes aggregate information such as app launches, tab navigation, use of search, book reading, dictionary, and highlight features, and session durations. No personally identifiable information is collected.
Website Analytics
The Website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) only after a visitor consents. It collects page views, referral and campaign information, general browser and device information, and clicks on App Store links to improve the Website and evaluate the download journey. Names, email addresses, and message contents entered in the contact form are not sent to GA4.
Contact Form
The name, email address, inquiry category, device information, and message entered in the Website contact form are sent to the Service Provider through Web3Forms so that we can respond. This information is not used for analytics or advertising.
Do the services collect precise real-time location data?
The App and Website do not request precise device location. GA4 may derive approximate location, such as country or city, from network information.
Third-Party Services
The App uses TelemetryDeck, which anonymizes data with one-way hashing, does not store IP addresses or personal information, and processes data in Frankfurt, EU. The Website uses Google Analytics after consent and Web3Forms for contact-form delivery. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.
Opt-Out Rights
You can stop App usage analytics by uninstalling the App. The Website does not load GA4 before consent. You can decline or withdraw consent at any time through “Analytics settings” in the footer.
Children
The App and Website do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under the age of 13.
Security
The Service Provider takes appropriate measures to protect collected information. Reading history, highlights, notes, and other reading data remain on your device. Google Signals and ad personalization are disabled in the Website’s GA4 configuration.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Please review this page periodically. Continued use constitutes acceptance of all changes. This Privacy Policy is effective as of September 1, 2026.
Your Consent
By using the App, you consent to the App’s data processing described in this Privacy Policy. Website analytics through GA4 begin only after you explicitly accept them in the consent prompt.
